To my understanding this to be a regular project just as the La Brae Undefeated store has made their billboard a piece of art. Nort now have joined them. If I remember correctly, this will take place at all three of Stash's Nort locations and with many artists set to be involved is something to look forward to.

Comfortable Lead is a great example of this, not many store owners out there would have an understanding of what Comfortable Lead has come from.



Comfortable Lead.
Run by Philadelphia based typographer and designer Jeremey Dean, Comfortable Lead exists somewhere between art project and clothing company. Fueled by punk, skateboarding and zines Jeremy spent his design schooling at Temple's Tyler School of Art shunning the computer in favour of tape, scissors, photocopies and press type. From these scraps came a font called Crackhouse, which Jeremy designed to use on school projects to annoy his type teachers. Crackhouse found a home at House Industries and eventually secured him a type designer position with unlimited copier privileges. Jeremy opted for a change of design scenery in 1998, to become a designer, and later art director for Urban Outfitters while also doing work for various indie music labels and punk bands under the name of National Design. Drawing from his years of experience with House Industries and Urban Outfitters, Comfortable Lead was born in late 2003. Currently Jeremy has reunited with former House Industries homeboys and ex-Zoltar the Magnificent prankster, Barnzley to form the clothing brand House33.

One of my favourite stores worldwide! If I was ever to open a store myself I would base it very closely on Slamjam. Check their site regularly as their product moves very fast. They'll ship anywhere in the world and are super friendly and helpful! Their home page features some new NBHD product and a Gravis X Resonate shoe, inside you'll find plenty more Resonate, Bape, Delta, aNYthing, PAM, and much more...infact I can't think of another online resource for RSNT outside of Japan.

Guide to Reselling.Part IV.

Buying in Bulk.

To keep your prices reasonable in order to compete in a tough market place. It pays to buy in bulk for a number of reasons, retailer might be inclined to give you a discount for buying their full stock of SB's or, keeping your sale price low will mean to make a reasonable profit it pays to sell more product.
Do you remember the days when if folks bought 2 pairs of shoes, they would ask for a discount, those days are gone, just try asking for a discount on your measly 2 pairs, when the guy behind who has a forklift carrying 500 shoe boxes.

There are some small problems with this method. Many sneaker boutiques inparticular limit the amount of a particular shoe one person can buy, in a weak attempt to stop you making a living. There are 2 methods to avoid this, firstly, bring along all your friends and family to help you purchase, between all your friends from graphic design school and your extended family you should be able to get a full size range at the very least, secondly, once you have got to the front of the queue and made your purchase, put your goods away in your car(sneaker carrier) and re join the queue. To avoid being recognised by the staff, I suggest you wear sb's, camo shorts, a supreme tee and box cap to blend into the crowd.

My Australian Correspondent has just advised me Dakota in Melbourne, has a pair of the 35th Superstar on display and due to be raffled off to someone very lucky. Its a private raffle and not associated with the Adidas raffles. The shoe was given to the owner of the store by Adidas. I really hope that there is police supervision at the raffle, cause I know that if those shoes were mine, I wouldn't be giving them away that easy!

If you haven't been to Japan before and seen these types of Sneaker stores, shrink wrapped heat from floor to ceiling, so many shoes there is barely room to move, you've been missing out. But now NYC has it's own, Flight Club. We'll update you with more info as it comes to hand. Freshnessmag has a great feature with plenty of pics, which pretty much speak for themselves! As we are all aware there are an abundance of independent t-shirt labels popping up all around the world at the moment. Many of which don't really ever get of the ground or if they do don't last long. Th Hundreds is not one of those. The Hundreds has gone from strength to Strength, through it's strong network, it's professional set up, and the fact the The Hundreds are nice guys with their heads screwed on tight really makes a difference. Currently The Hundreds clothing is carried in all the best stores, with a stockist list that anyone would be proud of..but whats in store for the future? Slam spoke to Bobby Hundreds...

"We do have some big things on the horizon. Mainly, in several weeks, we will be debuting our Summer line. Probably around the end of May or beginning of June. We also have some collabos in the works with Married to the Mob, Being Hunted, and In4mation. We've just launched our skate team, and have 3 solid high-school-aged kids under our belt. In a week or 2, we will be releasing an article on Rick Klotz from Fresh Jive in our Chronicles section of the website - and he will go in full detail about the lawsuit with him and Stussy. There's actually a lot more that we're working on over the next year but I can't say a word.. we have 2 projects lined up that are just gonna blow heads in the streetwear department! but I'll let you know months down the road.."

Street Kingdom.

Street Kingdom is different to most other reselling sites around these days. The Street Kingdom crew have access to some of the best product and are selective in what they sell. You'll find rare nike's and bape on their site but also Undercover, NBHD, Visvim, Comme Des Garcons and Margiela. To me this is what makes it stand out. They'll source product for you even, but chances are you'll find something you want on their site anyway.
